SANTIAGO.- Following the release of a report from the Comptroller's Office yesterday indicating that the Mayor of Huechuraba, Carolina Plaza, financially harmed the municipality, PS town councilor Camila Benado has announced that three more lawsuits will be presented against those found responsible for the irregularities.
The proceedings will begin in March and will comprise charges of ideological forgery, public fraud, forging an identity, as well as signature forgery.
Benado also indicated that new police reports will be presented to the Public Ministry as part of the proceedings at the Electoral Tribunal that have been ongoing since May of 2008 to remove Plaza from office.
Meanwhile, the president of the Socialist Party, Senador Camilo Escalona, has asked Alianza presidential candidate Sebastián Piñera to publicly explain why he continues to support Plaza despite the fact that she has relinquished her membership to the UDI.
