Police arrest Argentine national accused of raping several children in Puente Alto

SANTIAGO.- An Argentine national has been arrested in the El Volcán neighborhood of the Municipality of Puente Alto and is accused of raping several children between the ages of six and seven.

The man was identified as 39 year-old Rogelio Navarro Mardones, who had been living illegally in the country since 2002.

According to Radio Cooperativa, the suspect has been implicated in the rapes of three children and molestation of another little girl.

Navarro confessed to the crimes after all of the victims allegedly identified him as the perpetrator of the sexual assaults.

The man is expected is be arraigned on the charges sometime today.
