LONDON.- Copper closed with a 1.54% loss today at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for US$ 1.53768 per pound of "grade A" material, compared to US$ 1.56172 on Thursday and US$ 1.51976 on Wednesday of this week.
Including this figure, the February average ended at US$ 1.50353, while the yearly average was reported at US$ 1.48169.
Meanwhile, the future 3-month price quote finished the day at US$ 1.55174 per pound, down 1.30% from Thursday (US$ 1.57215).
At the LME, stocks decreased by 3,175 metric tons to 542,300. So far this year, there has been an accumulated increase of 202,525 MT (+59.61%).
