SANTIAGO.- After returning from her vacation today, the Mayor of Huechuraba, Carolina Plaza, once again justified the trip she took to Europe in 2005 saying that, despite questions that have been posed by the Comptroller's Office, the trip will bring benefits to the municipality.

The mayor, who repaid the more than 3 million pesos in funds that have been questioned by the supervising entity, said that she is not worried about the results of the organization’s final report and assured that, thanks to the trip she took to Spain and France, Huechuraba will be able to begin implementing social housing renovation projects.

Plaza also explained that she only agreed to return the municipal funds she had used "because that is what the report said" and announced that over the next few days she will be revealing documents that justify the voyage.

Nevertheless, Plaza admitted that administrative errors have been made during her time in office. "I recognize that I made a mistake with regards to how the expenses were recorded and I apologize, but the reason for the trip is another matter that has two do with two issues: ComunaNet and the social housing situation", she declared.
