SANTIAGO.- Although Minister of Finance Andrés Velasco had been expected to return to work today, the government has announced that the official will resume his duties on Wednesday of this week after returning from his vacation period, which was marked by an accident involving his two year-old daughter, Ema.
President Michelle Bachelet relayed the information to the ministers of her political committee, who had been waiting for Velasco to begin a meeting with the President following her own vacation in Viña del Mar and Lake Caburga.
The head of Finance had also been scheduled to participate in a hearing today along with the President, the head of the Central Bank, José Gregorio, and the director of Budgeting, Alberto Arenas.
Nevertheless, the minister of Finance has decided to postpone his return for two days in order to be with his family.
