SANTIAGO.– Young director José Manuel Sandoval will be presenting his debut film "Te creís la más linda" (You think you're the prettiest), to compete in the San Sebastián film festival. If he wins he will receive post-production and promotional services for the film, which should be completed in July.

The film tells the tale of Javier, a young man with sexual woes who gets dumped by his girlfriend. He wanders the streets of Santiago in frustration, seeking vindication.

The film won this same category at the Viña del Mar Film Festival last year, obtaining financing for post-production costs.

José Manuel Sandoval is also the director of the fictional shorts "Se busca otra mujer", "Las piernas de la señorita de la micro" and the short documentary "Pulsación".

The Films in Progress award has made possible the completion of many award-winning movies such as the Mexican film "El violín", by Francisco Vargas, and the Guatemalan flick "Gasolina", by Julio Hernández Cordón.
