SANTIAGO.- The so-called "Pacific Classic" match has become even more heated after one of the likely starting players for Peru this Sunday unleashed his rage against Chile, speaking of revenge and war, while even claiming that he would "come out with knives" to play at the World Cup classificatory match.
Soccer player Carlos Zambrano did not hold back his rage against Chile just days before his first encounter with "la Roja" National Team.
"I have never passed by them and I never will. They have infuriated and enraged me since I was a child and this Sunday I am going to get back at them for everything they have done to us", the defense player told Peruvian press.
And the athlete did not stop there. When asked about Chile possibly gaining favoritism and the "excessive safety measures" the team's players would be taking, Zambrano stressed "I don't care to talk about them. When Peru goes to Chile they batter us and when it is their turn to play in Lima, they become the victims. The Peru-Chile matches are war. That is the way I see it", he asserted.
With regards to the clash scheduled for this Sunday, the player seemed confident in a win. "I am optimistic and I see myself winning. Losing does not cross my mind. This match is a war and if I can I will come running out with knives to defend the colors of my country. They are not going to have it easy", he asserted.
