NEW YORK.- An annual ranking generated by the Internet site AskMen.com has placed Santiago in 26th place among the cities where men prefer to live, which was led by Chicago.
With regards to the Chilean capital city, the website points out that "few cities have such an attractive mix of economic power, modernity, accessibility and geographic location as Santiago". The site also emphasizes the city's health facilities, as well as the fact that it has one of the most efficient underground transportation systems in the world. Meanwhile, the ranking also hails Bellavista as a hot spot for nightlife.
The site also highlights the accessibility of water and sky sports, as well as the economic force that has mitigated the effects of the world recession, asserting that "financially-speaking, Santiago appears to be one of the best places to live in 2009".
The list recognized other Latin American cities as well, placing Buenos Aires in thirteenth place and Panama City at number 21 of their initial roster of 60 cities, which was later narrowed down to 29.
