SANTIAGO.- Officers belonging to the Criminal Investigation Brigade of La Reina arrested one of the grandsons of Mario Silva Leiva, also known as "El cabro Carrera", last night.  The man allegedly possessed 12 pending arrest warrants for various crimes.

Authorities had been searching for 50 year-old Mario Lorca Silva since 2005 in connection with the crimes of battery, forgery, drunk driving, fraud, rape, kidnapping, drug trafficking and consumption, money laundering, as well as violation of the firearms law.

According to Officer José Ignacio Molina, Lorca Silva was apprehended yesterday at 9:15 PM outside his apartment building in the rundown neighborhood of Colón Oriente in Las Condes. Neighbors had called to complain about constant problems the man had been causing, especially regarding aggressive and threatening behavior towards them and his wife and children.

At the moment of his arrest, Lorca Silva was found to be in possession of 10.7 grams of cocaine, which is reportedly enough to charge him with micro-trafficking.
