SANTIAGO.- A suspect was killed this morning after participating in a robbery along with at least three other individuals at the "Kangaross" sneaker store, located in the Municipality of Vitacura.

The incident took place just after 4:00 AM, when the suspects arrived at the store in a truck and crashed the vehicle through the front window of the business.

The group managed to take approximately 100 pairs of sneakers, a projector and a printer before fleeing the scene in the direction of the La Pirámide sector in the northern part of the capital city.

Nevertheless, according to police officer Capitán Sandra Vargas, the suspects lost control of the truck they were driving. The reason for the crash is currently under investigation, as suspects were not being pursued by police when it occurred.

The suspects collided with a public light post and then crashed into a barrier along a road curve that caused the vehicle to flip. 22 year-old Nicolás Fuenzalida Aravena, who did not possess a criminal record, died at the scene while the rest of the group fled.
