SANTIAGO.- The Panamanian Authority for Food Safety has authorized nine Chilean sheep and bovine meat packing companies for export to their country.
The announcement was made today by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, who were informed by the Agricultural and Farming Service (SAG).
"This information that we are sharing with the public today should fill all Chileans with pride, it confirms the professional excellence of those who work hard to ensure the high quality of our internationally recognized export products. This motivates us to continue along the same path that has converted Chile into a leader in food production and forestry", stated Minister of Agriculture Marigen Hornkohl.
The official also shared positive information for Chilean foreign affairs: "I would also like to announce that SAG has confirmed 8 states in Brazil to be free of hoof and mouth disease with vaccination, which means that the export of bovine meat to Chile from the establishments in these zones, authorized by SAG, was given the green light to begin as of yesterday. This is a sign that Chile is strengthening its participation in international trade".
