SANTIAGO.- While harshly criticizing the government for the delay in passing the Blind Trust Law, the presidential candidate for the right wing Alianza, Sebastián Piñera, explained how he would carry out the plan to dissociate his administration from his numerous companies in light of the presidential campaign.

After speaking out against the current administration's "obsession" with sabotaging his campaign, Piñera explained that the majority of his investments will now be administrated by four separate institutions, which are controlled by the National Securities Supervisor (Superintendencia de Valores) or by the Banks Supervisor (Superintendencia de Bancos).

"They are going to manage these investments according to their criteria, without informing me of anything, except what is strictly necessary to fulfil my tax and legal obligations", stated Piñera.

The presidential candidate also stated that he has asked a financial institution for a proposal indicating the best options for selling LAN (a company that he owns 25.13% of) "before March 11th of next year".

With regards to criticism he has received from the government and the left wing Concertación after refusing to sell Chilevisión, Piñera assured that he has asked a team of lawyers to develop a permanent statute that will guarantee the independence and pluralism of the magazine and television channel.

While indicating that this morning he had resigned from all of the boards of directors that he had been participating in, Piñera stated, "I want to tell you all, and I am happy to do so, that I am staying on Colo Colo".
