SANTIAGO.- Everton and the Chivas de Guadalajara will face each other this Wednesday at 18:30 to determine which team will be the second participant in the Group 6 semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores soccer tournament.

The Chivas are most likely to qualify at the Sausalito Stadium match. The Mexican squadron currently holds a one-point advantage over Nelson Acosta's boys on the positions table and either a win or a tie will allow the team to move on to the next round of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Everton needs a win in order to make tournament history by moving on to the round with the 16 best clubs, since it would be the first time the team would be included in the phase.

Everton has previously participated in the Libertadores tournament only once, in 1977, when the team was eliminated during the first round. "This is more important than a national championship or classifying to the Libertadores tournament. There has never been a match this important in the history of the club", stated Everton president Antonio Bloise.

Everton Coach Nelson Acosta, appears to have only one doubt regarding his team's clash against the Mexicans: whether to place Gustavo Dalsasso or Nicolás Peric at the goal post. While Peric is considered to be first string, Dalsasso has displayed some incredible performances during his participation in the tournament.
