Monckeberg on García Pinochet campaign: "It is the worst favor he can do for the memory of his grandfather"

SANTIAGO.- The spokesperson for the National Renovation party (RN), Deputy Nicolás Monckeberg, has said that his party with neither offer support nor risk the doubled votes in his sector for the independent campaign of Rodrigo García Pinochet in district 23:  Las Condes, Vitacura and Lo Barnechea.

The deputy also stated that citizen support for García Pinochet´s campaign “would be completely overrepresented; meaning that it would be the worst favor he could do for the memory of his grandfather, because the people in that district are not going to risk the Alianza`s sole candidacy for the support they may have had for ex-President Pinochet”.

Monckeberg also admitted that the parliamentary aspirations of Pinochet`s grandson could affect the Alianza since, though he does not believe that Pinochet has a possibility of making it to Parliament or even obtaining an important percentage of votes, his campaign hypothetically could jeopardize Alianza candidates.
