SANTIAGO.- It is the end of this road for Nicolás Massú (ATP No.120) at the Roland Garros Grand Slam Tournament, after he was defeated today during the second round of the championship by Swiss player Stanislas Wawrinka (ATP No.18) with scores of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2 in 1 hour and 14 minutes.

The Chilean player has once again been left behind after a match where his Swiss counterpart was noticeably superior, with Massú playing erratically and displaying problems with his backhand.

Massú has never been able to make it past the third round of the Roland Garros tournament and this time was no exception.

The two players had faced each other twice before, with one win for each. It was for this reason that many thought Massú could still possibly move on in the Paris championship.

Nevertheless, after the beginning of the first set it became quite apparent that the Swiss national was playing far superior and was in better physical shape than Massú, who at the moment does not seem to be playing at his best.

Following Paris, it is likely that the Viña del Mar native will begin participating in the European grass tournaments to prepare for Wimbledon.
