SANTIAGO.- Unmatchable. This is the word that can be used to describe Chilean tennis star Fernando González' (ATP No.12) performance so far at the Roland Garros Tournament.
The Chilean athlete triumphed today in a heated match against French player Josselin Ouanna (ATP No.134) with set scores of 7-5, 6-3 and 7-5 in one hour and 54 minutes.
It was the first time the two players had ever faced each other, which lead to some uncertainty concerning the level of game play that would be observed in Ouanna. The French player however, did not disappoint.
Meanwhile, González, who today served up 11 aces and committed 26 non-forced errors, will face Romanian player Víctor Hanescu (ATP No.33) in the fourth round. This is the third time González has made it to the fourth round of the tournament during his career.
