SANTIAGO.- 72 year-old Óscar Gálvez Peña was found murdered by a single shot to the head. Gálvez Peña is the father of Raúl Gálvez Ramírez, who is charged with small-scale drug trafficking after providing drugs to journalist Pamela Farías. Farías was found dead in her apartment in Nuñoa.

The incident occurred early this morning at the victim's residence located in the municipality of Santiago Centro. Police have not ruled out the possibility that Gálvez Ramírez was the intended target of the crime.

According to police, witnesses say they saw at least one individual at the home. "There are witnesses, one neighbor who was in the area when the attackers left the house with firearms", stated officer Carolina Vergara, of the Downtown Police Station.

Vergara added that "the Public Attorney's Office has been informed and an investigation is underway to find out what happened".

Assistant Chief of the Police Homicide Department Alejandro Arriagada has stated, "the cause of the incident is linked to the fact that the victim's son and grandson have been associated with a high-profile homicide case".
