SANTIAGO.- The Universidad Católica, ranked number one among qualifying teams, will play the third match of the Apertura Tournament today against the other leading team, Unión Española.
Universidad Católica feels very confident about scoring the necessary three points, despite a harsh penalty issued to forward Luis Núñez for having spit on a Santiago Morning player during the first day of the Apertura.
The University of Chile on the other hand, is set to go up against Cobresal tomorrow without their unruly fan base, due to a punishment issued by the Penalty Court. This match will carry out the punishment given to the team to play two matches with empty stands.
The match between Palestino and Colo Colo, which under normal conditions would be played at the National Stadium, will be held in La Serena. Although Colo Colo fought until the last moment to have the location of the match changed, in the end they were left with no other option than to refute the decision made by the National Association of Professional Football (ANFP).
