SANTIAGO. -  The Presidential Secretary General, José Antonio Viera Gallo, will travel to Ecuador today after being invited by the country’s Minister of Internal and External Coordination, Dr. Gustavo Larrea.  The objective of the meeting is to exchange knowledge and experiences in the areas of State modernization and integrity as well as government transparency and anticorruption.

In Quito, Viera Gallo will also meet with Chancellor María Isabel Salvador; Minister of Government, Fernando Bustamante; and Defense Minister, Wellington Sandoval.

According to information received from the Presidential Secretariat, Viera Gallo will return to Chile this Wednesday, February 27th.

The Segpres leader attended the political committee meeting last night at the home of President Michelle Bachelet, where the political reforms on the legislative agenda for the designated “second half” of the administration were analyzed.

The meeting also addressed the current crisis in the Ministry of Education regarding a report released by the National Comptroller’s Office, which detected severe irregularities in the issuance of educational subsidies.
