SANTIAGO.- The president of Commerce and Production Confederation (CPC), Alfredo Ovalle, acknowledged that the business sector is worried about the bomb threats and detonations of explosive devices that have taken place recently in Santiago.
“Of course we are concerned, I think it is something that infuriates the people who just want to do their jobs”, said the CPC leader.
“Nothing is achieved through violence and I think that they are very isolated groups”, asserted Ovalle.
Despite the uneasiness currently affecting the sector he represents, Ovalle claimed he was “sure the government has already identified” those responsible for the attacks “and will impose disciplinary action”.
Meanwhile, the sub secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Felipe Harboe, has called for responsibility, arguing that the “incidence of phone calls” is directly correlated to “the effects that previous calls had on the media”.
