SANTIAGO. - After stating that he is a “man of few words” during the first part of his speech at a breakfast being held by the Chilean Institute for Rational Business Administration (Icare), Minister of Interior Edmundo Pérez Yoma expressed his growing concern for ineffecient State administration in some aspects of the government and called for a “revolution” in the federal system.
“I propose a national pact to improve the State, aimed specifically at transversally and objectively confronting resistance to changes that naturally emerge during any type of process”, the cabinet leader stated emphatically. Additionally, Yoma stressed the need for “all political forces to come together on this common initiative”.
“Just as an agreement helps to share costs and overcome resistance, it also allows us to share in the resulting success from a process that benefits everyone, especially those who depend on federal action the most”.
