SANTIAGO. - Last night, six intruders made off with more than two million pesos in jewelry, electronics and other items after robbing a home in the Los Dominicos neighborhood of Las Condes.
The home was that of Raúl Canruarias Avilés, nephew of former UDI Senator Edgenio Cantuarias. According to Raúl Cantuarias, six intruders ---including two women and a young boy--- managed to enter the residence located on Luís Matte Larraín through the kitchen just after 10:30 PM.
The perpetrators then made their way to the master bedroom, where Cantuarias and his wife were and the time, using knives and a screwdriver to threaten the homeowners.
The chief of Las Condes Security, Rolando de la Rivera, has said that the characteristics of the crime indicate information about the home may have been offered up by service employees or people who have worked at the house.
The intruders, who had cut the cables of the alarm system, took two loaded guns, jewelry, watches, a laptop, an mp4 player, a cellular phone and other items with them from the home. The stolen artifacts are thought to be worth more than two million pesos.
