SANTIAGO.- According to the Meteorological Department of Chile, the precipitation that has been falling in the central part of the country will continue throughout the day today between the Regions of Valparaíso and Maule.

Additionally, rain is forecasted to begin this afternoon in the Region of Coquimbo and in the Region of Atacama by the end of the day, lasting until Wednesday morning.

The Meteorological Department also said that a mass of cold air is expected to move in behind the storm front, affecting a large part of the country.  Low temperatures are forecasted to fall to between -2 and -4 degrees Celsius in the valleys and foothills from Valparaíso to Los Lagos.

The forecast does not rule out the possibility of below-zero temperatures within the Regions of Coquimbo and Atacama.
