SANTIAGO.- Officers of the Metropolitan Robbery Investigation Department are currently probing a case of theft at the office of Pablo Longueira, located on the corner of Los Leones and Costanera Andrés Bello, in the neighborhood of Providencia.
Police sources have indicated that the crime was discovered this morning when employees arrived and realized that items were missing.
According to the information given to EMOL, the assailants climbed the fence outside the premises, then broke open a door and window to gain entrance to the building, where they proceeded to steal a plasma television, a computer and two CPUs.
Officials from the 19th Police Station of Providencia were dispatched to perform an initial investigation of the scene. The East Public Prosecutor’s Office however, later decided to hand the case over to the Robbery Investigation Unit.
This is the second robbery of its kind targeting the Alianza senator’s building – four computers were stolen from the same office in November of 2006.
