SANTIAGO.- Socialist Party (PS) Deputies Fulvio Rossi and Marcelo Díaz , members of the dubbed “Green Bench”,  have completely distanced themselves from the legal actions announced by a group Parliament members against the Minister for the Environment, Ana Lya Uriarte.

Both deputies have rejected the announcement of an appeal for legal protection against the authority, by those who believe she has not taken adequate measures to prevent the current contamination indices being reported in the capital.  Rossi and Díaz assured that “these actions do not represent the entire Green Bench”.

Fulvio Rossi has deemed criticism against Minister to be “harsh and unfair”. “This attitude is surprising and it seems like more of a political operation than a real interest in tackling the pollution problem”, stated the Deputy for Iquique.

Rossi also stated that at the Green Bench, “many of us appreciate the Minister’s work”.
