SANTIAGO.- Dense fog covering the city of Valparaíso this morning has been blamed for three traffic accidents –involving two buses and four trucks- along Camino La Pólvora that reportedly have left twenty people injured.
The first collision was reported at 10:30 am, when a bus carrying residents from Pudahuel on a day trip to the Fifth Region was hit by a truck.
After the vehicle came to a screeching halt, it was impacted only seconds later by another truck, causing minor injuries to five people.
According to National Police Major Joel Arriagada, who was 150 meters behind the accident, another bus coming from Rancagua then slammed into another stopped vehicle, leaving a total of 20 people with minor injuries.
The third accident involved a truck that allegedly had flipped over at the intersection of Camino La Pólvora and Route 68.
Those injured were taken to Hospital Carlos Van Buren in Valparaíso, while traffic on the road is currently stopped.
